Temporary exhibitions

The Interpretation Centre permanent exhibition is complemented by Temporary Exhibitions inside its facilities, whose objective is to make local master craftsmen known. They keep the traditional pottery of the area alive with their hands and/or they design new methods for a more environmentally-friendly artistic creation.

“The clay in the ATANI´s hands”

ATANI is non-profit organization which arose in 2001 from the anxiety felt by a group of mothers who, being affected by their sons and daughters’ drug addiction, look for aid for their treatment and subsequent reintegration.

At the present time, one of the projects developed by this organization is SUPPORT TO THE SOCIAL AND LABOUR INTEGRATION of risk groups with special difficulties acquiring employment, including groups of people on treatment with addictions. Its main idea is an artistic pottery workshop where the works exhibited herein are produced.

This project performs the training and the learning for a specific trade, in this case the pottery, as well as attitudes which let them to be included in society, in social and labour terms. Thus, some values such us the responsibility, persistence, commitment, respect for schedules and rules and, most importantly, the SELF-ESTEEM, without which any process for the support to the integration would be meaningless.

This exhibition shows some works made in the pottery workshop, specifically primitive pottery, agates and marbling. We would like to emphasize the importance for the users of this project, by carrying out the production of these pieces without even having training or previous contact with pottery.
