Temporary exhibitions

The Interpretation Centre permanent exhibition is complemented by Temporary Exhibitions inside its facilities, whose objective is to make local master craftsmen known. They keep the traditional pottery of the area alive with their hands and/or they design new methods for a more environmentally-friendly artistic creation.

Stitches made with the Heart

Toñi, ‘La Zagalica’, was born in a cave dwelling and she still today lives in it. She is a neighbour of Guadix caves neighbourhood and she is in love with cross-stitch works.
‘Since I was a child, I feel always attracted by this work, which I learnt in the Padre Poveda School. I perfected it in the Cross-stitch Workshops of the Padre Poveda Sociocultural Centre in the Guadix caves neighbourhood.
Reflecting unique images of our culture, monumental and landscape heritage through stitches marked by 2-end thread, one by one, minute by minute, hour by hour… until I feel sleepy,… and seeing how the work is shining in its all splendour, it is for me a inexplained pleasure.’
Bedspreads, Tablecloths, Pictures, Bibs, Bookmarks… nothing becomes impossible to her and anything is good for making cross-stitch works.
