Temporary exhibitions

The Interpretation Centre permanent exhibition is complemented by Temporary Exhibitions inside its facilities, whose objective is to make local master craftsmen known. They keep the traditional pottery of the area alive with their hands and/or they design new methods for a more environmentally-friendly artistic creation.

‘Memories of My Childhood’

Like so many ‘accitanos’ who emigrated to Catalonia by the year 1955, JOSE CRUZ ÚBEDA drew up the more important brushstrokes of his life in Barcelona. He felt homesick and dreamed about returning to his birthplace to exhibit some of his works related to the Caves Neighbourhood of the beautiful Guadix city (Granada) where the artist was born.
The passion for painting guided JOSE CRUZ ÚBEDA at any moment, turning this art into his means of life.
The recognition and the esteem of everything what constitutes his cultural and artistic patrimony, instil a great impulse in him, feeling passed on by the force of a modern society.
Expressivity, motivation and naturalness characterize his works as realist painter and inspire him to take the realism until its last consequences. He captures the air, the atmosphere, light and still life on his canvas.
